Effective February 1, 2022, Dr. Rehan Sadiq will serve as UBC Okanagan’s Provost and Vice-President, Academic pro tem.

International partnership expands: UBCO-Exeter Excellence initiative

On December 7, UBC Okanagan and the University of Exeter renewed and expanded the institutions’ Statement of Cooperation to further strengthen the relationship and encourage cooperation in the areas of academic exchange, education and research.

Anti-racism initiatives receive funding

This year UBC established an Anti-Racism Initiatives Fund to support projects that celebrate and elevate diverse communities and advance anti-racism efforts at UBC. An annual allocation of $100,000 is available at UBC Okanagan. I am pleased to announce seven recently funded proposals on our campus.

Message to the community regarding Senate vote on use of remote proctoring software

On March 25, 2021, the UBC Okanagan Senate voted in favour of a motion to direct UBC Okanagan Faculties to stop using remote invigilation tools that involve automated recording and algorithmic analysis of data captured during invigilation, except in cases where the use of such ‘remote proctoring software’ is required by external accreditation bodies.
